Lesslie Polinesia. Age: 23. Hello there I'm standing aline staring at my surroundings, but my mind keeps drifting back to how good a man is when we are together. It's the simple things about man that turn me inside out; but, when we kiss, I burn raw... deep down inside. I crave that next kiss; the one that always leads to more.
Asian Carp & Invasive Species
“If you can’t beat ’em – eat ’em!” – Silver Carp Solutions | Big Muddy Speaker Series
In the small town of Bath, Illinois, a little more than miles southwest of Chicago, an annual competition to catch flying fish draws visitors from near and far. The invasive species is traveling up the Mississippi River watershed and its tributaries, like the Illinois River, threatening the freshwater ecosystem of Lake Michigan by outcompeting native fish for food. Silver carp's "startle response" is jumping out of the water due to the noise and pressure waves caused by boat motors. Fish biologist Jan Hoover from the U. Army Engineer Research and Development Center was at the event studying specimen by collecting bone samples to age the fish and examining ovaries to learn more about their reproductive cycles.

Invasive Species: Catchin’ Some Asian Carp
App Store. Google Play. Was waiting for an alligator to fly out.
They are voracious feeders, they can grow to more than 40 lbs. And that puts them at the mercy of hunters like Zach Nayden, who has come with his crew to the small town of Bath, Illinois, to capture some carp. As we roar with a flotilla of other boats down the Bath Chute—an 8 mile-long channel next to the Illinois River—the carp begin popping out of the water, sometimes in high, lazy pop flies, sometimes with the trajectory and velocity of a hard line drive. As if on cue, one of his crew takes a carp to the kisser.
